Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Roland Igbadumhe as Special Adviser on Livestock Development, a move aimed at strengthening the state’s agricultural and livestock sector.

The appointment was confirmed in an official statement issued by the governor, who described the elevation as a recognition of Igbadumhe’s commitment to public service and the development of Edo State. The appointment has been welcomed by supporters and stakeholders who view it as part of the administration’s efforts to harness the potential of capable young leaders in governance.

In the statement confirming the appointment, Governor Okpebholo congratulated Igbadumhe and expressed confidence in his ability to contribute meaningfully to the administration’s development agenda. The governor described the appointment as a “well-deserved appointment,” adding that it is “a testament to your exceptional leadership, dedication and unwavering commitment to service and the continued growth and development of Edo State. May your tenure be impactful, productive and bring lasting transformation to our dear state. We wish you success.”

Igbadumhe, who previously served under former Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, expressed gratitude to Governor Okpebholo for the opportunity to serve in the new capacity.

Speaking shortly after the announcement,  Roland Igbadumhe praised the governor’s commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive governance, noting that the administration has opened doors for young people who previously lacked access to political opportunities and leadership positions in the state.

“I just want to appreciate the governor of Edo State for his development drive to develop Edo, to make Edo shine, to make Edo great and for bringing young men who have ideas. Good intention by the state, giving them appointments, helping them to become members of House of Reps, House of Assembly. For the first time, young people who don’t have any one to call, someone’s son that is nobody can be anything in Edo State because the governor has changed the narrative. I appreciate so much the appointment he just gave me. I will work with him to bring a positive change to the livestock sector in Edo State, with the Ministry of Livestock in Edo and the Commissioner of Agriculture. He is a young commissioner who is also doing quite well.”

The newly appointed Special Adviser further pledged his support for the governor’s broader political and developmental objectives, while assuring him of strong backing from Edo North.

“It is time for us to change the narrative in Edo. Edo North is ready, he should not worry bout delivering the 2.5 million votes for Asiwaju. We will do more than that. The youths are happy with him; especially in Edo North, we are 100 percent with him. Np division, we are one family. Very united in Edo North,” Roland  Igbadumhe said.

Roland Igbadumhe reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with relevant government agencies and stakeholders to drive growth in the livestock sector and contribute to the overall development of Edo State.
