Cable manufacturing company, Cutix Plc, has urged its distributors to take advantage of opportunities in the solar energy sector, describing solar cable business as the next major frontier in Nigeria’s power industry.

The company made the call while rewarding its outstanding distributors for the 2024 financial year with cars, refrigerators, power generators and television sets at an event held in Nnewi, Anambra State.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of Cutix Plc, Mrs. Uche Igbokwe, said the company was positioning itself to lead the transition from traditional electricity systems to solar energy solutions.

According to her, future recognition and business growth among distributors would largely depend on how quickly they embrace the emerging solar cable market.

“As we celebrate today’s success, we must also look ahead. The world is changing. We are witnessing a significant shift from traditional grid and hydro electricity to solar energy,” she said.

“This is not just a trend; it is the future. At Cutix Plc, we are not just observing this shift, we are leading it.

“Our new entrant, the Solar cable, represents the next phase of our growth journey. This is where the next frontier lies,” Igbokwe added.

She explained that the award recipients emerged based on consistent facility turnover, revenue performance, market growth, sustained partnership and alignment with the company’s business objectives.

Igbokwe described distributors as critical partners driving the company’s expansion and market penetration across the country.

Head of Commercials at Cutix Plc, Mrs. Ada Ikebuilo, said the company recorded strong commercial performance in the 2024 financial year, generating N12.18 billion in revenue, representing 88 per cent of its target and a 31.68 per cent increase over the 2023 financial year.

Six companies emerged as top-performing distributors during the period under review.

Pax-O Multi-link, owned by Mr. Pius Ogbonna, a trader at the Electrical International Market, Obosi, Anambra State, won the Star Distributor of the Year award after recording N2.1 billion in sales against the N1.8 billion target set by the company.

The company went home with a Lexus RX 350 SUV as prize.

Other awardees included E.O. Anaka, E.U. Nwankwo, Chi-Chris Ventures, Sunny Electricals and Chikandu Electricals.

Co-Founder of Cutix Plc, Ambassador Okwudili Nwosu, commended the award winners for what he described as exceptional commitment and performance.

“Your achievements have set a benchmark for others and have reinforced what is possible when dedication meets opportunity,” he said.
