Education technology firm, HiPrep, has introduced a real-time learning and progress tracking platform designed to give parents instant insight into their children’s academic performance.

The company said the platform was created to address a long-standing gap in communication between schools, tutors, and parents, where many guardians only discover their children are struggling academically after examination results are released.

Speaking on the initiative, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of HiPrep, Adanma, said many Nigerian parents were not disengaged from their children’s education but lacked timely information about their academic performance.

“Most parents are not disengaged. They are just uninformed. The school sends a report card every three months, and parents are expected to make sense of their child’s entire academic journey from that. We built HiPrep because that is simply not enough,” she said.

According to the company, every child on the platform undergoes a baseline assessment before classes begin to determine learning gaps, strengths, and the appropriate academic level. The outcome is then used to create a personalised learning path supported by tutors.

HiPrep explained that the structure allows lessons to adapt to each child’s pace and areas of difficulty, rather than relying on the traditional one-size-fits-all classroom model.

The platform also introduced an Artificial Intelligence-powered study companion known as Lumi, which provides round-the-clock academic support for students outside scheduled tutoring sessions.

The company said Lumi assists students with homework, simplifies difficult concepts, and uses quizzes and instant feedback to improve understanding and engagement.

“Every tutor we have is exceptional. But even the best tutor cannot be everywhere at once. Lumi was born from that reality. We wanted every child to have something constant, something that does not cancel, does not get tired, and will aid every child to move forward,” Adanma added.

According to HiPrep, parents can monitor lesson updates, track academic milestones, review tutor feedback, and access payment and communication channels from a single dashboard accessible on mobile devices.

The firm said it currently serves over 600 families with support from more than 150 tutors across subjects including Mathematics, English, and Sciences, while also preparing students for examinations such as WAEC, JAMB, GCSE, iGCSE, 11 Plus, and SAT.

Industry stakeholders have increasingly identified personalised learning and parental involvement as critical factors in improving academic outcomes, especially in countries where public school systems remain overstretched.

Adanma said the company’s goal was to ensure that no child falls behind academically due to a lack of individual attention or delayed intervention.

“We are not just building a platform. We are building the system that every Nigerian child deserved to have from the beginning. One that sees them, tracks them, and refuses to let them fall behind in their learning,” she said.
