Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta North have rejected the declaration of victory by former Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, in the party’s senatorial primary.
In a statement, the group insisted that Senator Ned Munir Nwoko won the primary and urged the APC National Leadership to follow due process in announcing the official result.
The stakeholders, in a statement signed by Engr. Emma Eboh, said the collation and announcement of results should be handled strictly according to the guidelines issued by the APC National Organising Secretary.
They maintained that the outcome of the primary, which took place on Monday, clearly favoured Senator Nwoko and called on the party to respect the will of the delegates.
“The integrity of the party is at stake. This is not just about a primary election — it is about whether internal democracy will be upheld or sacrificed to manipulation.
“For us in Delta North, the result is already evident. What remains is for the party to uphold its own rules and formally affirm the will of the people,” the statement said.
The disagreement comes as the APC prepares for the 2027 general elections, with both Senator Okowa and Senator Nwoko having shown interest in the Delta North Senatorial ticket.
