A socio-political group, the Bomadi Elders and Stakeholders Forum, BESF, has endorsed the member representing Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency, Mr. Nicholas Mutu, as its sole candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election.
The group said the decision followed extensive deliberations aimed at promoting unity, progress and sustained development in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State and beyond.
Speaking at a meeting held in Ughelli, Delta State, Chairman of BESF, Dr. Deingha Macauley, commended members for their commitment to fostering a united political front in the area.
He described Mutu as a “legislator par excellence” who has won the confidence of his constituents through impactful representation and infrastructural development.
Macauley urged members to mobilise support across wards and units for President Bola Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for a second term, and Mutu’s return to the National Assembly in 2027.
“As people of common destiny with a shared vision for development, there is a compelling need to align with the wishes of the populace regarding representation in the House of Representatives,” he said.
According to him, Mutu has consistently delivered dividends of democracy and should be given the opportunity to consolidate on his achievements.
Earlier, a member of the forum, Deacon Godwin Maze, moved a motion for Mutu’s endorsement, citing the lawmaker’s contributions to the constituency and the need to sustain ongoing development.
The motion was seconded by Jackson Okodozor and was unanimously adopted through a voice vote conducted by the chairman.
In an interview with journalists after the meeting, Director-General of BESF, Pius Labo, said Mutu’s endorsement was based on his strong connection with constituents and his open-door policy.
He noted that residents of both Bomadi and Patani council areas were eager to see the lawmaker return to the Green Chamber in 2027.
Also speaking, the forum’s Publicity Secretary, Hon. William Angadi, said the group—comprising largely former council chairmen—remains united in its quest for the growth and development of Bomadi.
He added that BESF would continue to mobilise support for its preferred candidates and ensure the realisation of its political objectives.
