The Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) has commenced plans for the construction of a water treatment reservoir to improve water supply to its subsidiaries and residents of Makurdi and surrounding communities.

The Group Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, led members of the company’s management team on an inspection tour of the proposed project site located opposite the brewery in Makurdi.

Speaking during the inspection, Dr. Asemakaha said the project was designed to address persistent water supply challenges affecting some of the company’s Strategic Business Units (SBUs).

According to him, the treated water from the reservoir would serve major BIPC-owned establishments including the brewery, BIPC Water, and Bensono Fruits, while also extending supply to residents within Makurdi and neighbouring communities.

“This project is a strategic intervention aimed at improving water supply to our subsidiaries and also supporting the needs of the people of Makurdi and its environs,” he said.

Dr. Asemakaha noted that the management of BIPC remains committed to ensuring the successful execution and completion of the project, stressing that the reservoir would enhance productivity and improve operational efficiency across the company’s businesses.

“We are determined to see this project completed because of the immense value it will add to our operations and the wider community,” he added.

The BIPC Group Managing Director also commended the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, for his continued support towards the growth and development of the company.

He said the governor’s commitment to economic development and industrial expansion has created an enabling environment for BIPC to pursue impactful projects across the state.
