Badagry 2027: Toviho clinches NDC House of Reps ticket

Hon. Olayemi Toviho has emerged as the House of Representatives candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, for Badagry Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election.

Toviho, popularly known as OBJ, was returned unopposed during the party’s primary election held on Friday, following a unanimous affirmation by accredited registered members of the party.

Party members at the exercise endorsed his candidature through a voice vote, describing him as a capable and experienced politician with the capacity to represent the constituency effectively at the National Assembly.

Speaking shortly after his emergence, Toviho expressed gratitude to party members for the confidence reposed in him, promising not to betray the trust placed in his leadership.

He said his over two decades of experience at the National Assembly had adequately prepared him for the task ahead.

According to him, “I have worked for 23 years in the National Assembly as a Legislative Aide in different capacities. My experience makes me the best alternative.

“I know how the National Assembly works, and I know what Badagry needs.”

The NDC candidate further stated that his ambition was driven by a desire to provide quality representation and practical development for the people of Badagry Federal Constituency.

“In 2027, I am running for the House of Representatives to be a voice for the people.

“Not to learn the job, but to deliver results in employment, empowerment, trade, tourism and infrastructure for Badagry Federal Constituency,” he said.

Toviho also thanked leaders and members of the NDC for entrusting him with the party’s ticket, assuring them of his commitment to strengthening the party’s fortunes in the constituency.

He pledged to work closely with stakeholders, youths and women groups to ensure inclusive representation and sustainable development if elected in the 2027 general election.

Party supporters and stakeholders present at the primary election hailed his emergence, expressing optimism that his legislative background and grassroots connection would boost the party’s chances in the forthcoming polls.
