Political activities ahead of the next general elections are beginning to gather momentum in Borno State, with Engr. Abdulsalam Mala Kachallah renewing his bid to represent the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Kachallah, who first pursued the position in 2019, is again seeking the seat as political consultations and alignments continue across the state.
His renewed ambition has generated discussion within parts of the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council. The engineer is the son of the late Mala Kachalla, who served as governor of Borno State between 1999 and 2003.
Outside politics, Kachallah is known within professional and business circles as an engineer and fellow of professional bodies, including the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
He has also been associated with infrastructure and development projects in Maiduguri, including work linked to the Polo Grand Hotel. His emergence adds to the growing list of aspirants seeking to shape representation in the National Assembly from Borno State.
