Nixon Okwara, an aspirant in Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 2, has reiterated that his intention is to see the constituency glow with visible projects in line with the mega-city model of Lagos State.
Okwara, who is contesting on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that Oshodi-Isolo, being one of the vibrant constituencies in the state, is yet to wear the full toga of a metro city, but promised his mandate will see that become a reality within a short time frame.
Expressing his joy for the overwhelming support he is garnering from the APC, the seasoned politician and philanthropist said his greatest takeaway service to humanity.
‘My greatest aspiration has always been to walk in humility, for as the Scriptures declare, ‘He that humbleth himself shall be exalted.’ Humility is not weakness but a true quiet strength in men who understand that power is transient but character endures.”Re-energizing his excitement over the mandate assurance from the constituents, Okwara appealed to the good people of Oshodi-Isolo to remain steadfast in their diligent choice of representative at the federal level.“
He promised that a vote for him is a vote for progress and a paradigm shift from the usual, citing some divergent opinions about who represents the constituency at the national level.’Reacting to such varied and distracting nuances, Okwara took a sharp swipe, educating the naive minds about what developmental politics is all about.
“Leadership, I have come to understand, is not about noise, personal enrichment, or fleeting applause. It is about sacrifice, accountability, and enduring impact. This is what I will be giving Oshodi-Isolo. It is what I have been doing in a private capacity and would expand it within the public mandate.“
“It is important to strongly emphasize my position as a detribalized aspirant whose consistent commitment to equal opportunity, integration, unity, and peace plays out in every one of my initiatives.
“We should reinforce the point that Oshodi-Isolo deserves leadership that reflects its diversity, not narratives designed to divide it,” he stated.
“However, Prince Okwara allayed an insinuation and public concerns over the incumbent, stating clearly that it has nothing to do with ethnicity but his personal capacity and characteristics.“”Leadership requires competence, and where that is lacking, the results will show. We must keep this point factual and not emotional.
“Given the political demography of our federal constituency, strongly rooted in diversity, the region has enjoyed unity and harmony during and after elections because of people like me as a community leader. It is unfortunate that it has not attracted the desired development under the incumbent. This is what the New Hope agenda under my mandate will bring,” Okwara stated.
“Above all, my deepest desire is that when my journey on earth is complete, I will be remembered as a detribalized servant of the people, a man who invested in humanity before ethnicity, competence before sentiment, and unity before division,” he added.
“Prince Okwara further stated that over the years, he has supported many candidates and participated actively in political movements, adding that while those experiences offered valuable lessons, the greatest was learning how not to represent the good people of Oshodi-Isolo.
“Oshodi-Isolo deserves not merely a representative, but a voice of conscience, courage, and genuine commitment to the common good.”
