Senior pastor of Gracemade Christian Center Seun Osigbesan has spoken about the difficult early years of his marriage, describing how his wife and namsake, Seun Osigbesan, supported the family over a protracted period of adversity.

The clergyman, who spoke at a church gathering to commemorate her 40th birthday, explained how she took over the household’s financial responsibilities for a number of years when he was having trouble making ends meet.

“You know, if I need anything, I am very comfortable asking her because I know that she will come through. Even when I did not have anything, she was consistent and never complained. She carried a lot of burden, real bills, for at least seven years and never complained,” he said.

The pastor shared how severe their situation became at one point, revealing that the family struggled to afford basic necessities.

“There was a time in our family when we could not afford diapers, and she used black nylon as diapers for the children. That went on for weeks. At a point, what the family ate was pap for breakfast, pap for lunch and pap for dinner. Yet, she never complained,” he said.

He explained that beyond covering bills, her constant encouragement helped him stay focused during that difficult phase.

“She always tells me, ‘Baby, I believe in you, you can do it, you are a great man, you are a millionaire.’ Now she says, ‘You are a billionaire, we have crossed billions in Jesus’ name.’ She kept speaking those words into my life, and that kept me going.

“She never said, ‘What kind of man is this?’ She never made me feel like I was failing. She was just that kind of person, very tolerant and deeply supportive,” he said.

Describing her as exceptional, he urged members of the congregation to appreciate her resilience and strength.

“I do not know where they made her from, but she is an amazing woman. Please help me thank her,” he said.

The actress, known for her role in the popular TV series The Johnsons, has since expanded her journey into ministry after being ordained as a pastor in 2023, following her exit from the show in 2022.
