Uzodimma’s sterling performance inspired me to join politics – Businesswoman

OWERRI – A businesswoman, Mrs Queen Chinyere Opurum, has declared that Governor Hope Uzodimma’s sterling performance, especially in infrastructure, inspired her to join politics to contribute her quota to the advancement of the state.

Opurum spoke on Wednesday when she met with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), traditional rulers, women and youth bodies in Nwangele Local Government Area, in which she declared an interest to run for the Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives in 2027.

She said she will leverage her business contacts to attract meaningful developmental projects to the constituency, while employing administrative acumen and experience to sponsor quality bills.

Opurum commended the policies and programmes of Governor Uzodimma, adding that they are geared towards birthing megacities in the state.

She urged Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu, maintaining that the president’s efforts in rebuilding the country will soon be appreciated.

In his speech, the Chairman of APC in the Local Government Area, Hon. Chima Iwuala, assured Opurum of the party’s support in the quest to make the constituency and state better.

Iwuala highlighted Opurum’s contributions to the growth and development of the party in Nwangele L.G.A., urging her not to relent.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman Of Nwangele Local Government, Hon. Paul Duru described Opurum as a bold woman and expressed confidence in her ability to accord the constituency good representation.
