The Executive Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area and Deputy Chairman of ALGON in Enugu State, Barr. Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze, has congratulated the First Lady of Enugu State, Mrs. Nkechinyere Ihuoma Mbah, on her birthday, describing her as a symbol of compassion and humanitarian service.
In a statement issued on behalf of the government and people of Igbo-Eze South, Ukwueze commended the First Lady’s commitment to humanitarian causes and her connection with the people of the area.
According to him, “Her Excellency is not just the First Lady of Enugu State; she is a compassionate figure whose actions reflect the aspirations and challenges of our people. Igbo-Eze South holds a special place in her heart, just as she remains highly regarded by our people.”
The chairman highlighted her intervention in the lives of a vulnerable family in Amachara Ovoko, where she facilitated the construction of a bungalow for Mr. and Mrs. Chisom Odoh, who are raising quintuplets under difficult conditions.
“This act goes beyond philanthropy; it reflects empathy and responsive leadership. At a time of need, she provided support that restored hope and dignity,” he said.
Ukwueze also recalled the First Lady’s attendance at the matriculation ceremony of beneficiaries of the Igbo-Eze South Scholarship Initiative at the Mario Institute of Hospitality Management and Entrepreneurship Education, noting that her presence encouraged the trainees.
At the event, the Enugu North Senatorial Zone Council of Traditional Rulers conferred on her the chieftaincy title “Ife Ka Ugo I of Nsukka Zone” in recognition of her contributions to social welfare and human development.
He further commended her role in facilitating free JAMB registration for female candidates under the 2026 Igbo-Eze South Education Support Initiative, describing it as a step toward promoting girl-child education and reducing financial barriers.
Reaffirming the appreciation of the people of Igbo-Eze South, Ukwueze said the First Lady’s support remains significant.
“We celebrate a woman of grace and generosity. Her contributions have made a meaningful impact on our communities and will continue to inspire others,” he added.
He wished her good health and continued success in her service to humanity.
