Transcorp Hilton Abuja denies cancelling booking for political rally

Transcorp Hilton Abuja has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that it cancelled a booking for a political rally, describing the claim as false and misleading.

In an official statement dated 9 April 2026, the hotel management clarified that no such cancellation took place, as no booking was ever confirmed.

According to the statement, an inquiry was made on Easter Monday regarding the use of the facility. However, the hotel said it was unable to accommodate the request due to a lack of availability at the time.

“Consequently, no booking was made at any point,” the statement read, stressing that narratives suggesting a cancellation were inaccurate.

The management further described the reports as “inaccurate, malicious, and entirely fabricated,” urging the public to disregard the information being circulated.

The statement was signed by Mohamed Said Khalil, Acting General Manager of the hotel, who reaffirmed the organisation’s position that the claims do not reflect the facts.

The development comes amid heightened political activity in Abuja, where venues and logistics for events have increasingly come under public scrutiny.
