Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has expressed reservations over a recent protest linked to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), reportedly associated with former Senate President David Mark.

Reacting to the development, Sani said many of the figures involved in the protest had previously held public office and should reflect on their roles in governance.

According to him, some of those now positioning themselves as opposition voices were part of earlier administrations, and their past records should be considered in evaluating their current positions.

He also questioned the motivations behind the protest, suggesting that political interests may be influencing recent activities within the opposition space.

Sani further observed that some of the actors involved had participated in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape over the years, noting that this history forms part of the broader national conversation on governance and reform.

Using a metaphor, he described internal challenges within political parties as issues that often arise when groups align with existing structures, rather than building new platforms from the ground up.

He added that political groups seeking a more stable framework could consider establishing new parties instead of joining those with pre-existing internal dynamics.
