RUGIPO student, 20, allegedly commits suicide

A 20-year-old Computer Engineering student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, Emmanuel Audi, has been found dead in his room.

Audi was discovered hanging in his residence along Awolowo Road, Emure Ile, Owo.

No suicide note was found, and the reason for his death remained unknown.

A colleague alleged that Audi may have been murdered and did not commit suicide.

Police spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the victim committed suicide.

Abayomi said detectives visited the scene and recovered the student’s body, which has been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy.

“Preliminary observations suggest a case of suicide.

“However, a thorough investigation is ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the incident,” Jimoh said.

He expressed the Command’s condolences to the deceased’s family and urged members of the public to seek help and speak up during moments of emotional distress.
