Prof. Dr. Parin Somani has called for stronger global commitment to education and humanitarian development, grounding her advocacy on resilience and personal experience overcoming life-threatening cancer and temporary loss of vision.

Somani, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the London Organisation of Skills Development (LOSD), has continued to lead initiatives focused on education, skills acquisition, and empowerment for underserved and marginalised communities.

Through LOSD, she has supported programmes aimed at expanding access to education and promoting inclusive development, with emphasis on youth and women empowerment.

An academician and author with multiple doctoral qualifications, she has published over 23 books and several academic papers covering education, leadership, resilience, and sustainable development.

She has also participated in international engagements across more than 127 countries.

Her humanitarian interventions include support for access to clean water, educational development in deprived communities, and assistance to vulnerable populations.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was involved in relief efforts targeting underprivileged groups and awareness campaigns.
Somani also engages in health advocacy, drawing from her experience as a cancer survivor to support patients and provide motivational guidance to individuals facing serious health challenges.

She has received several international recognitions for her contributions to education, peacebuilding, and humanitarian service.

Research journalist Mujahid Al-Ibenu described her as “a rare convergence of resilience and purpose-driven leadership,” noting that her work reflects how personal adversity can be transformed into global impact.

Somani continues to advocate for education, ethical leadership, and collaboration as key drivers for sustainable global development.
