ABUJA – THE Oyo State Government and a private firm, Iseyin Agric Value Hub, Tuesday, concluded on synergising to unlock agribusiness in Oyo State.
This was on the heels of a high-level meeting between the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency, OYSADA, and Iseyin Agric Value Hub, where critical issues were discussed and the modalities to address them in terms of advancing agribusiness development to boost food production, accessibility, affordability and profitability.
Meanwhile,in attendance was the OYSADA delegation – Mr. Ajetumobi Akinwumi, Director of Technical Services; Mr. Popoola Olusola, Regional Manager (Oyo); and Omotunde Oluwatobi. While the Iseyin Agric Value Hub team was led by its Chief Executive Officer, TPL Lukman Komolafe, alongside Mr. Richard Samuels, Mr. Oluwatosin Familola, Adeyanju Opeyemi, and Barrister Wale Oladejo.
Top of the meeting was to present the Iseyin Agric Value Hub project and seek strategic collaboration with OYSADA to position the hub as a private sector-driven agribusiness cluster capable of attracting investment, supporting farmers, and enhancing value chain development in Oyo State.
Key issues discussed during the meeting included security architecture, water availability, investor targeting, land ownership structure, pricing sustainability, accommodation plans, and investor protection mechanisms.
Meanwhile, the Hub’s management provided assurances on security partnerships, existing infrastructure provisions, and the presence of a legal framework to safeguard investor interests.
Additionally, a strategic agenda was presented to OYSADA, which highlighted areas of potential collaboration, including stakeholder engagement and institutional support for the hub’s development.
In response, OYSADA acknowledged the viability and strategic importance of the project, commended the vision of the development team, and confirmed that the proposals presented would be escalated within the appropriate government channels.
The Agency further expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Iseyin Agric Value Hub in driving agricultural investment and development across the state.
Both parties resolved and reaffirmed their strong commitment to a productive partnership aimed at transforming agribusiness opportunities in Oyo State that would open new frontiers in agribusiness to create jobs and attract investors to the State, and make it a food production hub in the region and the country at large.
