Youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ila Federal Constituency, Osun State, have called for greater youth representation in party tickets ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging the party to allocate National Assembly and State Assembly slots to young aspirants.

The appeal was made during a strategic meeting held in Ila on Saturday, involving youth leaders and stakeholders from Ila, Boluwaduro, and Ifedayo Local Government Areas.

The stakeholders agreed that increased youth participation in elective positions would strengthen the party’s grassroots support and improve its chances in upcoming elections.

Speaking after the meeting, the APC Youth Leader in Ifedayo LGA, Azeez Kazeem, said the party leadership should consider ceding House of Representatives and other legislative tickets to qualified young aspirants across the constituency.

“We want to appeal to our leaders to cede the House of Representatives ticket to Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin and other youths in Ila Federal Constituency. This will boost morale and increase support at the grassroots,” he said.

He added that many voters engaged during ongoing campaigns are youths who desire representation that understands their challenges.

Kazeem expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects in the state, saying the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, would win the forthcoming governorship election, while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would secure re-election in 2027.

Also speaking, student leader within the APC, Comrade Ayomide Alabi, vowed that party members would resist any form of electoral malpractice during the elections in Osun State.

A House of Representatives aspirant, Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin, also urged party members to remain resolute, expressing confidence that the opposition would be defeated in the coming polls.

He said the party would continue its mobilisation efforts ahead of the August governorship election and the 2027 general elections.
