Adeola

The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, will consolidate on the achievements of the current administration and unlock the vast socio-economic potential of the State, according to APC chieftain, Olootu Bolaji Adeniji.
Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, last week emerged as the consensus gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State, effectively ending weeks of speculation over who would clinch the party’s ticket ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Reacting to the development, the Convener of the Ogun West Initiative, Adeniji, reaffirmed the emergence of Adeola as a “historic opportunity for balanced leadership and inclusive governance” in the state.
Speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta, Adeniji said the lawmaker possesses the capacity to build on the foundations laid by Governor Dapo Abiodun, particularly in infrastructure, education and industrial development.
According to him, “Governor Abiodun has done remarkably well in setting Ogun State on the path of sustainable growth. What we need now is a leader who can consolidate on these legacies and take the state to the next phase of its socio-economic rebirth. Senator Adeola has the vision, competence and political will to fully harness Ogun’s vast potentials.”
He further noted that Adeola’s candidacy presents a rare chance for Ogun West, which he described as historically marginalised in the state’s political leadership, to produce a governor that understands the yearnings of the people.
Adeniji said, “Our consensus candidate’s financial expertise, enormous legislative experience and proven track record in delivering people-oriented projects, social services and mass empowerment place him in a vantage position to move Ogun State forward.”
Highlighting the significance of the development, he stressed that the long-standing agitation of Ogun West to produce the state governor was now within reach.
He therefore called on party members and the electorate to rally behind Adeola, noting that his candidacy symbolises unity, continuity and progress for the state.
“We are confident that the next administration under YAYI will prioritise infrastructural growth, industrial expansion, youth empowerment and rural development, thereby positioning Ogun State as a leading economic hub in Nigeria and the West African sub-region,” Adeniji added.
