BENIN CITY – THE Oba of Benin , Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Ewuare II has commiserated with the deputy governor of Edo State, Him Dennis Idahosa and his family the death of his mother Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa (neé Enabulele) who died at 95 years.

The Obama of Benin’s message was delivered by emissaries led by the Obasogie of Benin Kingdom, Chief George Igiewhin Ekhator Obasogie and the Obazulu of Benin Kingdom, Chief Osaro Idah

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Idahosa, Friday Aghedo quotes Idahosa aa solicitung for support, in terms of prayers, from the Benin monarch as he and his family prepare to bury their late mother.

He appreciated the Oba for identifying with the Idahosa family as their point of need and informed the monarch that the activities lined up for the funeral of his late mother were in line with her last wish.

“On behalf of my family, i thank the Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare II for identifying with us, his subjects, at a time like this, based on the demise of our mother, Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa.

“Today, the Oba in his magnanimity has sent prominent chiefs from the palace to console us. We are indeed very grateful.

On behalf of the family, i use this rare opportunity to inform him that in line with my mother’s last wish, her Christian funeral rites would take place in Benin City, from May 8-10, 2026.

“I appeal to our revered monarch to please put my family in prayers as we prepare to give our departed mother a befitting burial.
