LAGOS — A Nigerian cleric, Prophet Sam Ojo, has called on citizens to refrain from speaking negatively about the country, declaring that Nigeria is “God’s project” and on the brink of a major transformation.
Delivering a recent prophetic message in Lagos, Ojo likened Nigeria’s current situation to the biblical journey of the Israelites from Egypt to the Promised Land, describing the nation as being in a transitional phase from hardship to prosperity.
“Nigeria is God’s project. We are moving out of Egypt into Canaan Land, but not everyone will get there with us,” he said.
The cleric suggested that ongoing political shifts could see changes in leadership, noting that not all current political actors would be part of the country’s future.
“Not all the politicians you are seeing today will get to the Promised Land with us. Nigeria will soon become good,” he added.
Ojo also cautioned Nigerians against what he described as negative rhetoric about the country, warning that such expressions could hinder national progress.
“Nigerians should stop cursing the country and stop speaking ill of Nigeria. It is the project of God, and God does not abandon His project,” he said.
Projecting a more optimistic future, the cleric predicted that Nigeria would become a global destination, attracting international visitors and prompting citizens in the diaspora to return home for emerging opportunities.
“The whole world will soon be looking for visas to come to Nigeria. Those abroad will run back because Nigeria will become a land of opportunities,” he stated.
He further advised Nigerians to obtain essential identification documents, including passports, Bank Verification Numbers (BVN), and National Identification Numbers (NIN), in anticipation of what he described as impending national growth.
The remarks have generated mixed reactions among Nigerians, with some expressing optimism about the country’s prospects, while others remain cautious amid prevailing economic and political challenges.
Despite differing views, Ojo maintained that Nigeria’s transformation is inevitable and divinely ordained.
“Nigeria will rise. Nigeria will become great again. Those who believe will witness it,” he concluded.
