…promises grassroots revival in Etsako East
By Joseph Erunke, Abuja
Dr. Aminu Imafidor, entrepreneur and rising political voice in Edo State, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Edo State House of Assembly, vowing to usher in a new era of purposeful representation, youth inclusion, and grassroots development in Etsako East Constituency.
Addressing supporters and community leaders across the constituency, Imafidor said his ambition is driven by a genuine commitment to transform the fortunes of the people through responsive and visionary leadership.
He stressed that the time has come for a new generation of leaders equipped with the energy, competence, and practical understanding required to tackle the challenges facing the people.
Etsako East, comprising the Weppa Wanu, Ibie, and Okpella zones, he noted, deserves a representative who will go beyond legislative debates to truly reflect the aspirations and struggles of the people in government.
“I am contesting because our people deserve quality representation. We need a voice that will defend our interests, attract development, empower our youths, support our women, and create opportunities for our future,” he said.
Imafidor lamented that despite the constituency’s rich human and natural resources, many communities continue to grapple with poor road infrastructure, unemployment, inadequate educational facilities, limited access to healthcare, and weak economic opportunities.
He pledged to sponsor people-focused legislation and motions aimed at improving livelihoods, particularly in education, agriculture, entrepreneurship, rural infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
Drawing from his background as an entrepreneur, Imafidor emphasized the need for government to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
“Government must not only make policies but ensure that businesses can grow, youths can find jobs, and families can prosper,” he added.
The aspirant underscored that leadership should be rooted in service, unity, and measurable impact, promising an inclusive representation that will give every ward and community in Etsako East a sense of belonging.
His entry into the race has already sparked enthusiasm among youths, women, professionals, and grassroots stakeholders, with many describing him as a symbol of generational renewal and capacity.
Supporters cite his blend of business experience, education, and grassroots connection as key strengths that position him as a formidable contender for the Assembly seat.
Calling for unity, Imafidor urged the people of Weppa Wanu, Ibie, and Okpella to work together for collective progress.
“Our diversity is our strength. When Weppa Wanu, Ibie, and Okpella stand together, no force can stop the advancement of Etsako East,” he declared.
He assured constituents of accessible, accountable, and transparent leadership if elected.
As political momentum builds ahead of the elections, observers across Edo North are increasingly tipping Dr. Aminu Imafidor as a strong contender and one of the leading faces of a new political era in Etsako East Constituency.
