The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State is witnessing a significant political realignment as key stakeholders and grassroots leaders rally behind the emergence of Muhammad Musa Maikaya.

The philanthropist and political mobiliser has increasingly become the focal point of growing support across the state’s 13 Local Government Areas, signalling what observers describe as a decisive shift in the political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.

At a recent strategic meeting led by Maikaya, party leaders and stakeholders emphasised the need for unity across political divides to drive development in line with the blueprint of Governor Abdullahi Sule.

Supporters and stakeholders insist that Maikaya’s rising profile is not driven by personal ambition but by his longstanding record of service. They point to his humanitarian interventions, including the provision of solar-powered boreholes in Lafia and other communities, which have improved access to clean water for underserved populations.

“While many politicians rely on slogans, Maikaya has built a reputation anchored on humility, respect for institutions, and tangible results,” a supporter said.

They also highlighted his loyalty to the APC since 2019, noting that his consistency in a political climate often marked by defections has strengthened his credibility among party elders and grassroots supporters.

For many of his backers, Maikaya’s track record reflects discipline and conviction—qualities they consider essential for the state’s continued progress.

“In all the years of Maikaya’s contributions to development, especially in supporting widows, youths, and the underprivileged, we have not seen a philanthropist quite like him,” a community leader remarked.

Supporters argue that leadership should be anchored on proven records, maintaining that Maikaya’s blend of technical expertise as a geologist and petroleum management professional, alongside his grassroots mobilisation efforts, positions him as a strong contender capable of shaping Nasarawa’s future.

As alliances continue to shift within the APC, party leaders appear increasingly aligned in their support for Maikaya, citing his service-driven approach and widespread appeal as critical assets ahead of the next political cycle.

With momentum building, observers say Nasarawa State may be entering a defining moment, as Maikaya’s growing influence begins to shape the narrative of the state’s political future.
