*Empowers 1,176 artisans in Etsako

By Henry Obetta

The lawmaker representing Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr Anamero Dekeri, yesterday, empowered over 1,176 beneficiaries during an empowerment programme for artisans.

The lawmaker distributed various empowerment tools, including sewing machines, hair-drying machines, farm chemicals, sprayers and other farming tools.

Members of the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association, NATA, went home with complete mechanical and electrical tool boxes, while welders went home with welding equipment and Alumaco workers were all given working tools for glass cutting, among others, across the three local government councils.

Speaking on his stewardship at the National Assembly, the lawmaker said: “I have no other business at the National Assembly than to serve your interest. Whatever I need to do to ensure that all that belongs to Etsako Federal Constituency gets across to us, I will do it. I have committed myself to the service of Etsako Federal Constituency and I will continue to serve you to the best of my abilities. I have moved Bills that will secure sustainable Development in our constituency. With me as your representative, Etsako Federal Constituency is in safe hands.

“We are gathering here to share and partake in the dividends of democracy. Democracy will lose credibility if it does not add value to human life. I will continue to add value to the lives of our people and ensure that everyone is economically empowered in various trades as I continue to strive to create other opportunities that will make life worth living for our people.”

He maintained that this empowerment programme is not going to be the last, as another mega empowerment is already in the pipeline and will also take place within the year.

“I have never failed in keeping my promises, and I will not fail you all,” he assured.

Groups who spoke included farmers, automobile repairers, traders, electricians, tailors, hair salon operators and members of NATA, Alumaco workers and others which constituted various categories of beneficiaries of the mega empowerment.

They commended the lawmaker for his community-focused projects, which are evidence for the world to see, saying, “This is what representation should look like. Representation is not empty speeches, self-promotion without substance or seasonal politics. What Anamero is doing is representation with evidence, as we are seeing today. Our children are now writing WAEC with their mates without staying behind because Hon. Dekeri Anamero took it upon himself to bear the burden of WAEC for students every year across the Etsako federal constituency. What else is good governance and effective representation?”
