…promises quality teaching

The Directorate of Sandwich Degree Programme of the Lagos State University, LASU, Ojo, has held orientation and matriculation ceremonies for new intakes for the 2025 Modular Year.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, gave the students the assurance that the students would benefit from the quality staff and facilities in the institution and urged them to take adequate advantage of being students of LASU.
She was represented on the occasion by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, Prof. Oseni Afisi.
“Matriculation is a covenant between the students and the institution and each side has its responsibilities. On our side, we promise you that you have come to an institution where you will be trained by quality faculties and where you have great facilities at your disposal. You won’t be denied anything.
“On your side, you have to properly manage your time, be dedicated and show perseverance. Your success won’t be accidental but you will have to earn it through diligence, hard work and commitment. You must also abide by the rules and regulations of the university,” the VC stated.
She also warned the students against anti-social behaviours and that they should focus on what they have come to the university to do.
In his speech, the Director, Directorate of Sandwich Degree Programme, Prof. John Adeogun, said the programme has been tailored to take care of the needs of different persons as some are workers, parents and people with other commitments.
“The matriculation ceremony marks the beginning of a significant academic journey that requires dedication, discipline, and a strong commitment to excellence,” he stated.
He encouraged the students to uphold the values and principles shared during the events as they pursue their studies and personal growth.
Representatives of the students signed the Matriculation Register after being administered the Matriculation Oath.
