Senator Sunday Marshall Katung has concluded a week-long tour of the eight Local Government Areas of Kaduna South Senatorial District, mobilising grassroots support for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Uba Sani ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This was contained in a statement by Midat Joseph ,Special Adviser (Media and Communications) to Senator Sunday Marshall Katung.

The tour, described by political observers as both strategic and mobilisational, saw the lawmaker engage with community leaders, party stakeholders, youth groups, and women across the district, urging them to sustain support for the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Addressing stakeholders in Zangon Kataf and other parts of the district, Katung said the outreach was aimed at strengthening party structures at the grassroots while aligning Southern Kaduna with the “Renewed Hope” agenda of the Tinubu administration.

He cited key federal projects facilitated under the current administration, including the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia and the Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan, noting that the institutions had been long-standing demands of the people.

According to him, the delivery of such projects underscores what he described as “politics of performance,” urging constituents to prioritise continuity over sentiment.

“Politics is about results, and results are what we are seeing. For decades, Southern Kaduna asked for these institutions. President Tinubu listened and acted,” Katung said.

The senator also commended Governor Uba Sani’s leadership style, describing it as inclusive and focused on reconciliation across communities in Kaduna State.
He maintained that the governor’s efforts to rebuild trust and promote unity have positioned the state for greater development.

Throughout the tour, Katung emphasised the need for voters in Southern Kaduna to consolidate gains by supporting the APC in future elections, insisting that sustained alignment with the federal and state governments would attract more developmental projects to the area.

“Our people have been shown respect through projects, appointments, and inclusion. The task before us is to mobilise from ward to ward and ensure continuity in 2027,” he added.

The tour forms part of ongoing political engagements ahead of the next election cycle, as stakeholders intensify grassroots consultations across Kaduna State.
