Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, has formally declared his intention to seek re-election to the Senate in the 2027 general elections, while also pledging support for the re-election bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.

This was contained in a statement signed by Midat Joseph, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the senator.

Katung made the declaration during a meeting with Local Government Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from his senatorial district, held in Abuja.

The lawmaker said his decision to seek another term is driven by the need to consolidate on gains recorded during his first tenure, complete ongoing projects, and sustain quality representation for the people of Southern Kaduna.

He stressed that the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Tinubu, alongside Governor Uba Sani’s development blueprint, requires experienced and committed lawmakers to effectively translate policies into grassroots impact.

Katung also urged party stakeholders to intensify mobilization efforts ahead of the 2027 elections, noting that Southern Kaduna must remain firmly aligned with the APC to preserve and expand ongoing developmental strides.

He further assured party officials of his continued commitment to unity, inclusive governance, and sustainable development across the eight local government areas of the senatorial district.
