Former Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, on Friday said he has presented himself to serve the people of Imo East Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Madumere spoke to journalists in Owerri following his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking on his ambition, he expressed confidence in his chances, citing his experience and political exposure.
“I am determined and resolute. Going by my pedigree, experience, exposure, reach and contacts, I stand a strong chance of clinching the PDP ticket. I envisage victory, but the electorate will ultimately decide, and I am prepared to appeal to their conscience,” he said.
He added that his entry into the race is aimed at rekindling hope among constituents in the Owerri Senatorial District.
“As a technocrat, I am in the race to renew the aspirations of our people. They deserve quality representation and should send their best to the National Assembly in 2027. I am offering myself unconditionally to serve and deliver results,” he said.
Madumere pledged to focus on infrastructure development, youth empowerment and human capital development if elected.
“Elect me to serve you in the Senate at this critical time. I will work proactively, embrace inclusiveness and pursue a clear vision anchored on development and empowerment,” he added.
He called on stakeholders and voters in the district to remain optimistic, saying the 2027 election presents an opportunity for a new phase of leadership.
“The time for a shift is now. I urge the electorate and stakeholders to stay focused as we work towards inclusive and impactful leadership,” he said.
Madumere also expressed confidence in his ability to deliver democratic dividends, noting that growing support from constituents would help him overcome challenges ahead.
He maintained that the Owerri Senatorial seat requires experienced and effective representation, adding that he is prepared to provide purposeful leadership capable of driving meaningful development in the district.
