AfroGroove artiste, ajofé, has said his recent house party in Ikoyi, Lagos, was aimed at fostering interaction among players in Nigeria’s entertainment and media space.

The private event, which drew a mix of influencers, artistes and broadcast professionals, featured notable guests including TikTok creator, Purple Speedy, and Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Jason Jae.

Activities at the gathering included music sessions and interactive games anchored by Jason Jae, with attendees engaging with songs from ajofé’s catalogue, including unreleased tracks.

A segment of the event, tagged the “Anti-Farmer Room,” also saw guests participate in a barcode-based game with cash rewards, while some were encouraged to create content linked to the artiste’s music.

Speaking on the idea behind the event, ajofé said it was conceived as a simple platform for connection across different segments of the industry.

He said, “I just wanted to bring people together in one space where music, media and content creators can interact naturally. It wasn’t about anything elaborate, just creating an atmosphere where people can connect around the music.”

Also in attendance were A&Rs, on-air personalities and representatives from television stations such as TVC, Soundcity and WAP TV.

The event reflects a growing pattern within the entertainment industry where artistes adopt smaller, curated gatherings to engage with audiences and stakeholders beyond conventional promotional channels.
