‘I had to create something from nothing’, say TikTok star, Eneja

Enugu State has produced a storied line of TikTok stars throughout history. Aliozor Toochukwu Justin, Onyinye John-Obute, Peace Ogu, Ngozi Abonyi, Tenorboy, and more have all left their mark.

Recently, a new wave of talent has emerged, taking Enugu to new heights. This crop of TikTokers is young but brimming with potential for massive commercial success. Among them, Eneja is a name to watch.

Born Eneja Divine Chukwumaijem in Enugu State, he moved to Abuja at the age of six with his parents and siblings. At nine, he attended boarding school in Benue State before returning to Abuja. His upbringing was shaped by a strict father and a mother who worked as a school teacher.

Financial challenges pushed Eneja to start his online career in 2021. Though his rise wasn’t immediate, by the following year he had gained significant traction. His rapid-fire videos and sharp editing skills quickly caught the attention of major brands and celebrities, including Davido, Opay, Rexona, Adidas, and Hennessy.

Reflecting on his journey, Eneja explains: “I didn’t start TikTok because everything was perfect—I started because I had to create something out of nothing. Every video is proof that talent can break barriers, and I want my story to inspire others who feel limited by circumstance. If you stay consistent, the world will eventually notice.”

With his creativity and growing influence, Eneja is poised to become one of the defining figures of Nigeria’s digital entertainment scene over the next five years.
