A coalition under the banner of the Senator Yari Support Network for Tinubu 2027 has called on President Bola Tinubu to appoint Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari as Director General of his 2027 re-election campaign.

The call was made during a town hall meeting held at the Ernest Ikoli Press Centre in Yenagoa, where the group’s National Coordinator, High Chief Preye Agama, described Yari as a detribalised politician with a proven track record and strong grassroots appeal across party lines.

Agama urged the leadership of the ruling party to consider Yari for the role, noting that the former governor enjoys significant support among Nigerian youths, which he said would be a strategic advantage in securing electoral victory.

According to the group, Yari has consistently advocated collective ownership of Nigeria’s political process and has demonstrated capacity in various public offices, including his current role as a senator.

“It is against this backdrop that his unwavering support for President Tinubu acquires deeper meaning,” Agama said.

“Senator Yari has the political capital required to pilot President Tinubu to victory in the 2027 election.”

The coalition further claimed that Nigerians across the six geopolitical zones support Yari’s emergence as head of the Presidential Campaign Council, citing his experience in handling high-level responsibilities and leadership roles in the Senate.

In his remarks, the Deputy National Chairman of the Coalition of APC Support Groups, Chief (Amb.) Seiyefa Bapaganyo, described Yari as a leader worthy of emulation.

“He has the capacity to lead the campaign effectively, and with him at the helm, victory is assured,” Bapaganyo said.
