Group urges Kekemeke to declare Senate bid

A socio-political group, Ondo South Great Minds (OSGM), has called on a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Isaac Kekemeke, to declare his intention to contest the Ondo South Senatorial seat.

The group, in a letter signed by its Chairman, Comrade Ojoayo Ogungbure, and Secretary, Adedeji S. Akinterinwa, said the call was based on widespread consultations and recent opinion polls across the district.

According to the letter, Kekemeke was urged to bring his “wealth of experience” to bear in addressing developmental challenges in the senatorial district.

The group said independent surveys conducted over the past four weeks in Ilaje, Ese-Odo, Odigbo, Okitipupa, Irele, and Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo local government areas showed strong support for Kekemeke’s candidacy.

It added that respondents, drawn from various sectors including artisans, traders, fishermen, students, civil society groups, and traditional institutions, identified him as the most viable candidate to secure victory for the APC.

OSGM lamented what it described as years of poor representation and ineffective legislation, noting that Ondo South, despite its economic potential, remained underdeveloped.

The group stated, “Ondo South needs a humanist, a man of intellect and proven integrity to drive pragmatic legislation and attract development to the district.”

It further described Kekemeke as a leader with administrative competence, respect for the rule of law, and strong moral standing.

The group, therefore, gave the APC stalwart 10 days to declare his intention, while also appealing to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to support his candidature.
