Group seeks clarification on Osun Assembly quarters, gate projects

Autonomy gives lawmakers, judges more responsibility, not money ― Osun Speaker

By Shina Abubakar, Osogbo

A coalition of civil society organisations in Osun State, The Osun Masterminds (TOM), has called on the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, to provide updates on the status of the legislative quarters and Assembly entrance gate projects.

The group expressed concern over the prolonged delay in completing the projects, noting that the structures have remained unfinished for an extended period.

TOM’s Executive Director, Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, while addressing journalists in Osogbo, urged the Assembly leadership to offer clarification on the situation.

He said the projects’ location within the state capital makes their completion important and called for more information on the factors affecting their progress.

The group also appealed for improved communication from relevant authorities regarding public projects, particularly those funded through government allocations.

TOM asked the Assembly to provide details on the current status of the projects, including timelines for completion and any challenges encountered.

The organisation emphasised the need for transparency and accountability in the execution of public infrastructure projects, urging that stakeholders be kept informed.
