Gov Soludo commissions hospital built by Akpua Family in Anambra

Healthcare delivery in Anambra State has received a significant boost following the donation of the Samuel Akpua Memorial Complex, comprising St. Ann’s Hospital and Maternity Ward, by the Akpua Family, residents in the United States.

Situated in Abba, the Hospital has been handed over to the Catholic Diocese of Awka through St. Paul Catholic Church, Abba.

The project was executed through the Samuel & Josephine Akpua Foundation, led by its Grand Patron, Dr. Josephine Akpua, alongside Dr. Chike Akpua, Executive Director, and Mr. Ugo Akpua, President.

Built in honour of the Late Samuel Akpua, the Hospital reflects the vision and generosity of the Late Samuel Akpua’s family, whose commitment to community development continues to inspire impactful initiatives.

With facilities that include a maternity ward, dialysis centre, diagnostic laboratories, and outpatient care services, the hospital is poised to address critical healthcare needs within Njikoka Local Government Area and beyond.

The commissioning ceremony, which took place on April 25, 2026, attracted key stakeholders and dignitaries across the state.
