Gov Oborevwori’s aide, Egware succeeds Ekakitie as EPU chairman

ASABA – EXECUTIVE Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Media, Dr. Nelson Egware, has been elected Chairman, Emevor Progress Union (EPU), Asaba Branch.

Dr. Egware, returned unopposed at the Union’s April monthly meeting in Asaba, succeeds Professor Sunny Ekakitie, at the helms in keeping Isoko of Emevor unified and advancing Emevor development from their various callings in the Delta state capital.

The transition election for the Union also produced Mr. Joseph Awoh as Vice Chairman, Simeon Ebewore (Secretary) and Doris Ogheneruemu as Assistant Secretary.

Also elected were Chris-Mark Erukaye as Financial Secretary, Mrs. Beatrice Agboro, re-elected as Treasurer, Mr. Oghoghome Ukpedor, Publicity Secretary as Awoh Lucky and Samson Adaighofua were elected Provost 1 and Provost 2 respectively.

In handover remarks, Prof. Ekakitie expressed appreciation to members for valued support through his tenure, highlighting how the Union recorded significant progress under his leadership.

He urged the newly elected executives to leverage their experiences in advancing the Union’s objectives, particularly in promoting peace, unity, and development within the Emevor community.

In maiden address, Dr. Egware thanked, “Members for the confidence reposed in me and the new executive. I assure you our commitment to service. I call for cooperation and support of all to enable this leadership achieve its goals.”

He also appealed to indigenes of Emevor residing in Asaba and environs to actively participate in the Union’s activities, with meetings held every third Sunday of the month at the residence of Sir Simeon Ukpedor, 12 Ochokwu Street, off Okpanam Road, by Globus Bank, Asaba, at 4 p.m.
