LS Scientific has highlighted the need for improved laboratory infrastructure and access to advanced technologies to support Nigeria’s growing pharmaceutical market amid rising demand for locally produced medicines.
According to a statement by the laboratory solutions company, its Managing Director, Murewa Odunjo spoke at the Pharma West Africa 2026 in Lagos, saying the exhibition provided a platform to address industry constraints and advance pharmaceutical production standards through improved access to modern laboratory solutions.
Odunjo noted that the event which brought together regulators, manufacturers and solution providers aimed to explore practical approaches to strengthening quality assurance to improve efficiency and meet rising regulatory expectations.
“Pharma West Africa represents more than an exhibition, it’s a catalyst for the next phase of pharmaceutical growth on the continent. We are glad to contribute to its growth by showcasing a range of advanced solutions for the sector.
“LS Scientific, showcased a range of advanced technologies from globally recognised partners including ERWEKA Germany, IKA Germany, Metrohm Switzerland, Astell UK, VELP Italy, Chemlab Belgium, Wasserlab Spain, Phenomenex USA, DWK UK, ELGA UK, Scharlab Spain and VWR UK,” he said.
The Managing Director added that the company’s participation forms part of a broader initiative to support the sector, including a scheme that allows pharmaceutical firms to acquire capital equipment, instruments, chemicals and consumables at discounted rates, with a six-payment plan to ease capital constraints.
According to the statement, industry participants at the exhibition lauded the diversity of laboratory equipment displayed, adding that it reflects where the industry needs to go. They said broader access to modern technologies, alongside sustained investment in infrastructure, and collaboration across the value chain will be critical to strengthening Nigeria’s pharmaceutical sector.
