The Federal Character Commission has launched a new website and digital platform to improve transparency, accountability, and monitoring across more than 700 Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs.
Speaking during the launch on Tuesday in Abuja, Executive Chairman of the FCC, Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, described the initiative as a major step in reforming the Commission and aligning its operations with global standards.
She noted that the platform would strengthen compliance monitoring across MDAs and improve how the Commission carries out its constitutional mandate.
Omidiran said the initiative would improve service delivery and make the Commission more accessible to Nigerians.
According to her, the system will create a more transparent process that allows citizens to better understand and engage with the Commission’s activities.
She said, “We are gathered here not only to unveil a digital platform, but to witness a decisive step forward in the modernization of the Federal Character Commission’s communication and service delivery framework.
“The new official website provides a unified, accessible, and user-friendly platform through which the public can engage more effectively with the Commission, while enhancing visibility and operational efficiency. This initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritizes digital transformation, innovation, and inclusive governance as pillars of national development.
“This platform will serve as a critical tool in ensuring that the principles of fairness and equitable representation are not only upheld but effectively monitored across all government institutions,” she added.
Also speaking at the event, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who was represented by Hajiya Laila Barau Jibril, said the platform shows that government institutions are ready to embrace modern technology.
She noted that beyond improving access to information, the initiative would help strengthen trust between government and citizens, while promoting inclusion and equal access to opportunities.
On behalf of the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, Mallam Sadiq Wanka commended the Commission for adopting digital tools to improve governance.
He said the initiative aligns with the administration’s commitment to using technology to promote fairness, efficiency, and national unity across the country.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Dr George Akume, who unveiled the platform on behalf of the President, said the development would improve institutional performance across government agencies.
He explained that the platform would enhance transparency, provide easier access to information, and support the Commission in effectively carrying out its mandate.
The Commission added that the platform will serve as a central system for monitoring compliance and improving public access to information across MDAs.
