Cultural promoter, Lilian Ogechi, has been honoured with a Hall of Fame Award by Nma Alaigbo for her contribution to the promotion of Igbo culture and heritage.
The recognition highlights her efforts in advancing the Igbo language, values and identity through sustained cultural advocacy and digital engagement. Ogechi, who runs the Adaigbo Global platform, has built a growing online community focused on preserving and promoting Igbo traditions and heritage.
Reacting to the award, she said, “I am deeply honoured and sincerely grateful to receive this recognition from Nma Alaigbo, one of the foremost promoters of Igbo culture and entertainment on Facebook. This award is not just a personal achievement, but a testament that every effort made in promoting our people, culture, values, and heritage is seen and appreciated.”
She added that the award would encourage her to intensify efforts in promoting Igbo culture and documenting indigenous heritage for wider reach.
“To everyone at Nma Alaigbo, thank you for this great honour. Your recognition means so much to me and will only inspire me to do even more in service of Alaigbo and our beautiful culture. May we continue to uplift, preserve, and celebrate the richness of our heritage for generations to come,” she said.
Ogechi is known for her field-based cultural storytelling, travelling across communities to document traditions, conduct cultural reviews and highlight heritage practices. Her platform, Adaigbo Global, has attracted over 94,000 followers and has become a hub for Igbo cultural discourse, language promotion and heritage education.
