Hon. Ziphion John Chrysanthus has officially declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for the Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on April 29, 2026, Chrysanthus confirmed that he has obtained the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.

He described the move as a continuation of his commitment to public service, pledging to provide what he called “the leadership required to propel our dear constituency to its rightful place.”

Chrysanthus, a Plateau-based politician, is known for his involvement in governance and policy advocacy.

He previously served as a liaison director for security agencies in Plateau State, contributing to discussions on security coordination and governance reforms.

His declaration adds to a growing list of political actors positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
The Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency has also been shaped by ongoing discussions around zoning and rotational representation among the three local government areas, with stakeholders and youth groups pushing for fairness and balance in political representation.

With the elections still over a year away, early declarations like this reflect increasing political activity across constituencies nationwide, as aspirants begin to position themselves on issues of development, security, and representation.

Chrysanthus concluded his announcement with a note of optimism, stating, “God is our help,” signaling the start of his political journey toward the 2027 polls.
