The Governor of Yobe State, Hon. (Dr) Mai Mala Buni, has approved the appointment of Dr. Mohammed Goje as the Acting Secretary to the State Government (SSG), with immediate effect.

Until his new appointment, Dr. Goje served as the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), where he played a key role in coordinating humanitarian and emergency response efforts across the state.

In a statement by the Director General Press and Media Affairs, Mohammed Mamman announcing the appointment, Governor Buni urged the new Acting SSG to rededicate himself to the service of Yobe State and work towards improving the welfare of its people.

The appointment is seen as part of ongoing efforts by the Buni administration to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery in the state.

Sources revealed that the erstwhile SSG, Baba Mallam Wali has been endorsed as the APC governorship candidate to succeed Governor Buni xome 2027 general elections, considering his pedigree. End
