APC youths want party to cede Osun-West senatorial ticket to Ejigbo

By Shina Abubakar Osogbo

A youth caucus within the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State has called for the zoning of the party’s 2027 Osun-West senatorial ticket to Ejigbo Local Government within Ede federal constituency, to promote equity and cohesion within the party.

The group under the aegis of Osun West Progressive Youth Network, argued that such an arrangement would promote equity, strengthen internal unity, and enhance the party’s electoral chances in the district.

The coordinator of the group, Comrade Ismail Adedokun addressing newsmen in Osogbo on Wednesday pleaded with the party leaders to cede senatorial ticket to Ede Federal Constituency.

The group hinged its plea on fact that one of the three constituencies have produced guber candidate for the party, while Ayiwola Federal Constituency had produced senator between 2019 to 2023 while the Ede Federal Constituency continue to deliver massive votes for the party despite the neglect.

He said “Ede Federal Constituency stands out as a strong and strategic electoral bloc based on verifiable indicators. The constituency records the highest number of polling units in Osun West, with a total of 450 units, distributed as follows: Ede North 126, Ede South 101, Egbedore 90, and Ejigbo 133. This reflects a wide grassroots presence and a deep electoral structure capable of mobilising support effectively.

“It is important to note that Ejigbo Local Government, as a major component of the Ede Federal Constituency, with 133 polling units, remains a key stakeholder in the progressive family. Over the years, it has consistently demonstrated loyalty, resilience, and commitment to party success. Yet, like other components within the bloc, it remains part of a broader collective aspiration for fair representation at the senatorial level.”

The group equally rallied support for the governorship candidate of APC, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO, and the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
