Prominent Nigerian political figure and business mogul, Chief Emeka Agba has officially aligned with the Young Progressives Party (YPP) as his platform for the 2027 Presidential election, marking a significant journey to his political ambition.
Chief Agba who made this known in a media chat, explained that the decision followed wide consultations, careful reflection, and strategic consideration he made before choosing the party.
The presidential hopeful emphasized that YPP’s alignment with his vision is for a better Nigeria, one built on production, accountability, youth empowerment, national unity, and real development.
Chief Agba described YPP as embodying fresh leadership, progressive ideas, and a people-driven movement poised to disrupt Nigeria’s entrenched political landscape.
He confirmed completing his party registration, signaling the launch of a new campaign phase.
The move according to him, comes amid growing anticipation for the 2027 elections, with YPP positioning itself as a fresh alternative to established parties.
He stated: “After wide consultations, careful reflection, and strategic consideration, I am pleased to officially inform you that I have chosen the Young Progressives Party (YPP) as the political platform for our journey toward the 2027 Presidential Election.
“This decision was not made lightly. It is based on our shared vision for a better Nigeria, one built on production, accountability, youth empowerment, national unity, and real development.
“For me, YPP represents an opportunity for fresh leadership, progressive ideas, and a people-driven movement that can challenge the old political order. This is not just about politics; it is about building a Nigeria that works for everyone,” he added.
Founded in 2017, the Young Progressives Party ‘YPP’ has gained traction as a platform for younger, reform-minded politicians disillusioned with Nigeria’s dominant parties like the APC and PDP.
YPP emphasizes anti-corruption, economic diversification, and youth inclusion, securing seats in the National Assembly during the 2023 elections. Party leaders have welcomed Agba, viewing his high-profile entry as a boost to their national ambitions
