Member representing Kosofe II Constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Femi Saheed, has sought a stronger electoral mandate ahead of the next polls, as he rolled out key projects and interventions executed during his four-year tenure.

Speaking during an interactive session with residents and journalists across Kosofe, the lawmaker said his administration had prioritised infrastructure, education, welfare and youth empowerment, noting that his performance justifies renewed support from constituents.
Saheed disclosed that he facilitated the provision of three mass transit buses dedicated to students within the constituency, a scheme he said has run consistently for nearly four years. He added that no fewer than 13 roads fitted with streetlights had been delivered, alongside major road projects in Ajagunle, Ademurin and Church Street.

He further listed the construction of a 1,200-capacity stadium, a large-scale water scheme at Isheri North Estate, as well as bridge projects in Agboyi and Patele Estate, one of which was executed by the Federal Government.
On education and social welfare, Saheed said his office provided support for students through JAMB sponsorship and scholarships, while also assisting indigent families. He added that employment opportunities were facilitated for youths through collaboration with agencies of the Lagos State Government, including the Ministry of Transport, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Ministry of Local Government, Civil Service Commission and neighbourhood security outfits.

“We have used the mandate given to us by the people to address their needs, including stopping illegal demolitions and supporting vulnerable families,” he said.
Projecting ahead of the elections, Saheed expressed confidence in increasing his vote tally, revealing that his support base had grown significantly over time.

“The first time, I received 8,016 votes. The second time, it rose to 36,896. This time, we are aiming for nothing less than 100,000 votes,” he said, urging residents to support him during party primaries and the general election.

He emphasised the importance of voter registration and participation, describing it as critical to sustaining democratic governance and representation.

Reacting, some residents commended the lawmaker’s performance, citing visible improvements across communities.
An event planner, Bosede Ajade, said Saheed’s interventions had transformed several areas, particularly in Ajegunle, where a school was renovated, a modern sports field constructed and free school buses introduced.
She also listed road projects in Agility, Ijero, Irepodun, Akinboro, White House and Oluwaseun as key developments that had enhanced mobility and living standards.

Similarly, a cleric, Evangelist Philip Aderana of Oluwalogbon community, praised the lawmaker’s responsiveness during crises.
“Some of us landlords were displaced when land grabbers invaded our community. We reached out to him, and he came to our rescue. Now, we are at peace,” he said.

Residents noted that the projects had collectively improved livelihoods in Kosofe, strengthening calls for continuity in representation at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
