BOMADI — The Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Political Matters, Rt. Hon. Peter Ujobolo, has advised the Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Rawlings Dagidi Andaye, to refrain from involving Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in local political disagreements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In an open letter issued on Tuesday, Ujobolo stressed the need for political actors in the area to maintain decorum and avoid actions that could heighten tensions within the local political space.

He emphasised that leadership positions should be used to promote inclusiveness, fairness, and unity, noting that the office of a council chairman is meant to serve all residents.

“The office of the Chairman is meant to serve all people equally and should not be seen as advancing narrow interests,” the statement noted.

Ujobolo further stated that Governor Oborevwori remains committed to the overall development and unity of Delta State and should not be drawn into local political contests.

“The Governor is for all citizens of the state and remains focused on governance and development,” he added.

He also encouraged residents of Bomadi Local Government Area to remain engaged in the democratic process and uphold peaceful participation in political activities.

Meanwhile, the Forum of Community Chairmen in Bomadi Local Government Area has declared support for the lawmaker representing Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency, Hon. Nicholas Ebomo Mutu, ahead of the 2027 elections.

The endorsement, announced during Easter celebrations, was based on what the community leaders described as Mutu’s performance in facilitating federal projects, as well as youth and women empowerment initiatives in the constituency.

The Forum, led by Prince Ali Orubiri, Chairman of Kpakiama Urban Community, expressed confidence in the lawmaker’s leadership and pledged continued support.

Speaking on behalf of the group, spokesperson Mr. Fada Ekeremor said the decision followed an assessment of developments in the constituency.

“We are convinced that continuity is in the best interest of our people. This endorsement reflects the collective position of our communities,” he said.

Reacting, the lawmaker’s Special Adviser on Politics, Hon. Phillip Gillor, thanked the Forum for its support and reaffirmed the commitment to sustained representation and service delivery.

As political activities gradually build toward the 2027 general elections, stakeholders in Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency continue to align around key figures and issues shaping the local political landscape.
