As preparations for the 2027 general elections intensify, a political pressure group has thrown its weight behind Prince Stephen Ogundeko, popularly known as Emperor Oyen, to represent the Ikenne/Remo North/Sagamu Federal Constituency in Ogun State.

The Oyen Political Movement (OPM) described Emperor Oyen as a true son of the soil, a genuine grassroots mobilizer, and a man with proven character and deep love for the people of Remo land.

In a statement signed by the Head of OPM Media House, Okueso Eniola Roland, the group said Emperor Oyen stands out among other aspirants due to his vision, integrity, experience, digital knowledge, global exposure, and strong grassroots acceptance.

“Emperor Oyen has demonstrated that leadership is not an entitlement but a responsibility. He serves both leaders and followers with the same humility. He empowers without discrimination, listens before he speaks, and carries everyone along,” the statement read.

The group noted that while many politicians make promises during election periods, Emperor Oyen has distinguished himself through consistent actions, philanthropy, and service to the people even before venturing into active politics.

Born into the historic Sonyindo lineage of Sagamu, with maternal roots in Isale-Eko, Emperor Oyen is described as a proud Remo son who has maintained strong ties with his people despite living in the United States for many years.

His track record of service includes founding the Emperor Oyen Charitable Foundation (EOCF), Convener of the Divine Grassroot Forum (DGF) across the three Remo LGAs, and various leadership roles in diaspora support groups for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu’s campaigns.

The group highlighted his philanthropic efforts, which include the distribution of over 60,000 exercise books to students, support for tertiary institution students, youth empowerment programmes, and assistance to widows and vulnerable families.

Emperor Oyen’s professional background spans over 11 years as a Lieutenant with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in the United States, along with academic qualifications in Petroleum Technology and Computer Science.

The Oyen Political Movement further praised him for initiating and co-founding the Prestige Friends Club Remo (PFCR), the group responsible for the construction of the iconic Ita Oba Roundabout monument in Sagamu, which symbolizes unity in Remo Kingdom.

“He remembers that Offin known as Constituency 1, has been left out of the representation in Remo Federal Constituency since after democracy till date which made him to present himself to serve his people through honoring the call of Offin in Sagamu Constituency 1.

“His manifesto is clear, practical, and people-driven — covering job creation, education, healthcare, infrastructure, security, youth and women empowerment, transparency, and environmental sustainability. He is prepared, qualified, capable, and committed.

“He has previously served as Assistant Financial Secretary for ward 14 after his father’s tenure as Ward 14 party Chairman ended, before relocating to Lagos for work. An active member of the Alliance for Democracy(AD) and now with the APC, he knows what it’s to take care of the party and the people which many can testify to,” the group stated.
