BURUTU — High Chief Thompson Robert Fuoye, an aspirant for the Burutu Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, at the weekend visited Kiagbodo in Ngblebiri Ward 8, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, as part of consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Fuoye was received by community leaders and residents during the visit, which included a stop at the residence of the late Ijaw leader, Pa E.K. Clark.

Addressing stakeholders, Fuoye said the visit was to formally declare his intention and seek the support of the community for his bid to represent the constituency in the Green Chamber.

“I have come to inform you of my intention to contest for the Burutu Federal Constituency seat and to seek your support. I believe in consultation and inclusiveness, which is why I am here,” he said.

He added that considerations of equity and justice support the call for Burutu South to produce the next representative, pledging to deliver effective and responsive representation if elected.

Responding on behalf of the community, Prof. Moses M. Adagbabiri appreciated the visit, noting that engagement with stakeholders was vital in the electoral process. He commended the aspirant for reaching out and assured of continued communication.

“We appreciate your visit and the respect shown to our community. We will continue to engage with you as events unfold,” he said.

Also speaking, Prince Christopher Perekeme described the consultation as commendable and urged the aspirant to remain accessible to constituents if elected.

On her part, Mrs. Gladys Angagha, speaking for the women, called for the inclusion of women in empowerment programmes and community development initiatives.
