…As Delta Ijaw Political group begins consultations for lawmaker

BOMADI—The Amanana-owei (Traditional ruler) of Bomadi Community, Chief Editor Zibinmoh, alongside his council of chiefs, has endorsed Hon. Nicholas Ebomo Mutu, the current representative of Bomadi/Patani Constituency in the House of Representatives, for re-election in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement took place on Wednesday at the Amanana-owei’s residence in Bomadi, headquarters of Bomadi local government area, Delta State, following a consultative visit to the council by members of the Delta Ijaw Democratic Movement (DIDM).
Led by its coordinator, Chief Gowon Kimaki, DIDM explained that the purpose of the visit was to seek support from the community’s traditional leadership. They emphasized that the lawmaker deserved to continue in his role due to his steadfast commitment to advancing the constituency through federal projects and human capital development.
Chief Kimaki said: “We are beginning discussions with various leaders about the need to provide necessary support for the lawmaker representing Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency to continue his commendable work.
“We are here to seek backing from your traditional council because Hon. Mutu is a proven and reliable leader who has brought numerous federal projects to the constituency, covering both Bomadi and Patani local government areas.
“We are all aware of Hon. Mutu’s legislative expertise and his ability to ensure government presence in our constituency over the years.
“DIDM is a political movement aimed at supporting politicians who genuinely work for the people and the Niger Delta region. We recognize in Mutu a strong commitment to bring necessary development to his constituency, which is why we have decided to advocate for his re-election”.
Former Bomadi LG Vice Chairperson, Hon. Flora Bripu, Associate Prof. Theophilus Gbigbi and Mr. Seifegha Peter and Hon. Ebiyekefe Stow, who also spoke during the visit, emphasized the importance of re-electing the current lawmaker due to his commendable performance.
The Amanana-owei, however expressed gratitude to the DIDM members for their visit, emphasizing that Hon. Mutu is a trustworthy individual. Following a brief private consultation among the council of chiefs, HRH Editor announced that he and the council have decided to support Hon. Mutu in the 2027 general elections.
“Hon. Mutu is the aspirant we have chosen as a council due to his impressive track-record over the years. His developmental projects and efforts in empowering his constituents are commendable, and I wholeheartedly support him to continue his work.
“We hereby endorse Hon. Nicholas Mutu to continue his excellent work for his people beyond 2027. We also encourage him to increase his efforts in bringing federal attention to the constituency and enhancing his empowerment initiatives for the youth and women,” Chief Zibinmoh stated.
