Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Senator Ede Dafinone as sole candidates for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made on Thursday during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the office of the Senate Liaison Officer on Adeola Road, Sapele, where party leaders, ward coordinators and members across the 11 wards gathered in a show of unity and support.
The motion for the endorsement was moved by APC pioneer chairman in Sapele, Chief Lucky Esigie, and seconded by Mrs. Thelma Tonwe, Special Adviser on Women Mobilisation to Senator Ede Dafinone.
The motion was subsequently adopted through a voice vote and affirmed with a standing ovation by stakeholders and party faithful present at the meeting.
Speaking at the gathering, convener of the meeting, Chief Dr. Patrick Akamovba, said the decision to endorse the trio was based on what he described as their proven performance and visible impact in office.
According to him, Senator Ede Dafinone’s performance in three years has surpassed expectations and positioned him strongly for re-election.
“In the history of representation in Delta Central, no senator has done better within such a short period. Senator Ede Dafinone has earned the confidence of the people through performance,” Akamovba said.
He maintained that Dafinone’s return to the Senate was non-negotiable, insisting that any challenge to his re-election bid would amount to political miscalculation.
“Senator Ede Dafinone has already won the primary in the minds of the people. He is a sellable candidate, and anyone thinking of contesting against him should reconsider,” he declared.
Akamovba also contrasted Dafinone’s style of representation with what he described as the concentration of projects in one area in the past, stressing that stakeholders now prefer inclusive development spread across all local government areas.
“We will not support a return to politics that concentrates development in one place. We want representation that touches every part of Delta Central, and Senator Dafinone has shown that capacity,” he added.
The endorsement, stakeholders said, reflects growing confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, Governor Oborevwori’s development strides in Delta State, and Senator Dafinone’s performance in the National Assembly ahead of 2027.
