ABUJA — A House of Representatives aspirant for AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, Hon. Sarah Ivie Adidi, is ramping up efforts to build early political momentum, reaching out to both traditional leaders and grassroots communities across the Federal Capital Territory.

The outreach reflects a calculated push to connect with the people and the power structures that shape local politics; blending direct engagement with community leaders and practical support for residents to build trust, visibility and influence where it counts.

Adidi made the move during a visit to the palace of the Sarkin Bwari, His Royal Highness Alhaji Awwal Musa Ijakoro II, in Bwari, where she commended his elevation to First Class status and sought his blessings for her ambition.

Describing the honour as well deserved, she praised the monarch’s fatherly role and steady leadership, noting that his influence has helped sustain peace and drive development in the area.

She used the visit to signal her intention to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives, pledging to deliver meaningful change through improved infrastructure, economic opportunities and people-centred policies if elected.

In his response, the monarch expressed appreciation for the visit and the recognition, assuring her of his support. He said the palace would remain open to her and indicated his readiness to back her aspiration.

The engagement also doubled as a humanitarian outreach, with Adidi distributing food items to women within and around the palace.

The initiative extended to the Agwan Hausawa community on the outskirts of Lokogoma, where she partnered with the Gora Foundation to distribute relief materials and meals to residents.

Items shared included clothing, laundry soap, beverages, noodles, cereals and staple foods, alongside cooked jollof rice and chicken. Adidi said the gesture was aimed at supporting communities she considers critical to the constituency’s growth.

She added that her agenda would prioritise basic amenities, infrastructure development and youth empowerment through skills acquisition programmes.

Also speaking, the founder of the Gora Foundation, Dr Gift Gora, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting underserved communities across the FCT through medical outreach and other humanitarian interventions.
