…Lauds Gov. Kefas, La Campagne Tropicana on Nwonyo Lake Transformation
By Femi Bolaji
Jalingo — The former Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, has ranked Taraba as one of the fastest-growing sub-nationals in Northeast Nigeria.
Reflecting on the state’s evolution since its creation in 1991, Ojudu noted that Taraba is undergoing an exceptional transformation.
He noted that the state’s current partnership with La Campagne Tropicana for the upgrade of Nwonyo Lake is a strategic move that has unlocked a massive economic gold mine.
Ojudu, a veteran journalist and former Senator (2011–2015), toured the ongoing Nwonyo Lake project and expressed deep fascination with the government’s vision.
According to him, “I was here in 1991 when this state was created, and I believe the current administration is finally getting it right.
“I am amazed by the scale of work here because it is a one of a kind project in Africa that will undoubtedly attract a surge of international guests within the next few months.”
He added that the eco-resort will not only boost local revenue but will firmly position Taraba as a premier destination for leisure and sustainable tourism.
Addressing long-standing concerns regarding safety, Ojudu offered a firsthand account that contradicted popular misconceptions.
In his words, “before coming to Taraba, I was warned to be careful of kidnappings.
“However, I have seen no such threats. I have been traveling between towns and villages, often with little to no security, and I have found the environment to be peaceful.
“The government is clearly making giant strides in security management.”
Senator Ojudu further encouraged Nigerians and the international community to look toward Taraba, citing its unique blend of natural beauty and agricultural potential as a compelling reason for investment and exploration.
